Second Quarter
On November 6 we started our Second Quarter. Let's try to make it as interesting and rewarding as possible. By now, you should have completed the PowerPoint Presentation (which served as a Storyboard to prepare for the iMovie) "The Story of My Life". You should have scanned or downloaded some of your pictures from your childhood and recent years.
You should have completed at least two Photoshop exercises. The first one: selecting a picture of your choice and adding one of the Artistic Filters; using the History Brush to bring back a section of your picture to its original form. The second one: Exercise No. 2 in the hand-out about "Photoshop" - selecting a picture of a person, using the Lasso Tool and creating a new layer (using the Command-J feature) and selecting the Artistic Filter "Poster Edges", etc.
Announcement: The test originally scheduled November 29 was moved to November 30 due to changes in class schedules. The test will include the "Introduction to Photoshop" paper and the 3-page "Photoshop" hand-out, both given in class (which include the contents of the PowerPoint presentation shown in the Mac Lab 11/21/06). The test will consist of 10 Multiple Choice Questions and 5 Completion Questions. The Completion Questions should be answered in complete sentences, with proper use of the English Language and using common sense. They are based on the studied material and the exercises performed in class. All of the Test Questions where explained and covered in class. You will also complete a Photoshop exercise - reviewing what we learned so far. If you haven't completed your Photoshop exercises, please do so. If you did the exercises already, please review them for the test.
On the Week of 11/27/06 you can start working on your iMovie "The Story of My Life". You are to download more pictures for this project (especially if you didn't have enough of them for your PowerPoint Presentation - or couldn't scan some of them) and select music of your choice for your background. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. Remember: when your movie is completed you are to create a QuickTime Movie (Go to Share on the Menu Bar and select QuickTime); then you can play it in any computer (Windows or Mac).
