THIRD QUARTER

This Third Quarter, which ends March 28, 2008, we'll be working on the iMovie for the Alumnae Reunion and on Unit C of the Adobe Photoshop Textbook (Family Portrait Exercise and Everything Feline). You also have to complete four Photoshop Exercises (in iLife 05): The Magazine Cover, Two Collages and The Suspended Flower. You should have a Third Quarter Folder in the Server under your name.

The iMovie should be completed and converted into a QuickTime Movie by February 29, 2008. The Alumnae Reunion is March 8th, but I need extra time to put together the four different movies created by the four different groups.

Besides reviewing how to create a dynamic slideshow using iMovie, you will learn and review how to use guides and rulers, modify selections, enlarge marquees and create a vignette in Photoshop.

There are two different ways of creating a Feathered Vignette: 1) Easier Way: Using the Elliptical Marquee Tool, select your picture (making sure that a number is entered under Feather in the Options Toolbar, anywhere from 6 - 20), Go to Select > Inverse and press the Delete Key on the Keyboard; 2) Longer Way: Convert your Background Layer into a regular layer (Go to Layer > New > Background from Layer). Add a New Fill Layer: Go to Layer> New Fill Layer > Solid Color (select color of choice for your background). Change the order of the layers. Select your Picture Layer and using the Elliptical Marquee Tool (Feather: 6 - 20) select your picture. Go to Layer > Add Layer Mask > Reveal Selection.
