Lesson 4 - Creating a Book
Hopefully by now your notes are complete, with the information you typed in class, and the information in the DA Blog. Check the previous entry below. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Mrs. Feld.
Once you complete all the required assignments (6 slideshows and a Smart Album), you will continue with Lesson 4, page 115. You will learn how to create a book, first using the pictures from the "Cool Pieces Album" and then using pictures of your choice. The computers with new versions work a little differently, so please let me know if you need assistance.
Follow the instructions carefully. Don't worry if you see a little yellow triangle on your pictures; that just means that the pictures don't have very good resolution, check page 133. You can change the page design (layout) of that particular page to improve it. If the triangles remain - they won't show up in your PDF File. You will not print the book, but you will create a PDF file of your book. Once your folders are created in the Server under your Digital Applications Class, you can save your books there (so that I can grade them). To convert a book into a PDF file, you go to File > Print (or press Command-P) and on the bottom left of the Print Window select PDF > Save as PDF.
Also practice showing your book as a slideshow. You simply click the Slideshow Button and change the Settings and Music in the Slideshow Window. I need you to create two books of your choice with two different Themes, Hardcover and Large Size - 11" x 8 1/2". These books must have at least 10 pages, and both books must be converted to PDF files (check instructions above).
Once you understand how to create these books well and complete the book assignments we will move on to Lesson 5 and learn to create iMovies.
